Join me to help save the planet - one chip packet at a time.
The time has come to turn the tables on the establishment and make a statement with my trusty sidekick, a pair of scissors! As an activist, I’ve taken on the challenge of transforming the fashion world by crafting one of a kind outfits from the most unlikely of materials – discarded plastics and denim. My studio in Daylesford has become a hub for creative resistance, where art meets activism and waste meets wonder.
Join me on a journey of fun and creativity as I lead workshops for school students and private groups, where we’ll ignite a spark of revolution with every snip of the scissors. Together, we’ll craft unique garments and costumes that not only defy convention but also challenge the status quo. From upcycled denim to soft plastics, our creations will be the stuff of legend, fueling a movement that demands change and celebrates individuality. So, are you ready to join the rebellion and turn your wardrobe into a symbol of defiance against the tyranny of waste?
Inspired by visiting artist Michelle Newton, the students responded to the prompt - create a costume for a super hero who will save the environment with such gusto and creativity - truly inspiring!
Thanks for the great work to bring the enthusiasm from the students around waste and creating recycled art.
The children created some wonderful items out of soft plastics at your Sustainable Hepburn Festival Stall.
Thank you so much for your amazing work at the teacher network day.
A huge thank you - a magnificent team led by Michelle Newton. I really enjoyed everything, the fashion, food, presentation, company, organisation and absolute fun. We are pleased that you raised so much money for a good cause.
It was a fantastic afternoon, well done Michelle. I loved how much the models were enjoying themselves on the catwalk.
